Is Alpha Pi Phi - Iota affiliated with Gonzaga?
Alpha Pi phi - Iota is not affiliated with Gonzaga University. We are composed of only Gonzaga University students, but we do not have formal recognition from the university.

I've never hear of Alpha Pi Phi? None of my friends have chapters at their school?
Alpha Pi Phi is just as much of a sorority as καθ, δδδ, χω, and other panhellenic sororities. You are sure to get an amazing experience from απφ even though we're smaller and younger!

What is hazing? Does Alpha Pi Phi haze?
hazing is anything that would put an individual in an uncomfortable or harmful situation. alpha pi phi is very strong in our stance against hazing, as we believe all it does is create division among the new member class, and the active sisters instead of fostering friendships. see the anti-hazing policy tab above for specific details.

How many girls do you accept per Rush?
we don't have a set number we accept per rush period! we want rush to be about getting to know everyone instead of people competing for spots.

Can anyone participate in sorority recruitment?
Any self-identifying females (including trans women!) are eligible to participate in sorority recruitment. However, females in their last year/semester of college are not eligible.

Is there a fee to participate in recruitment?
Sorority recruitment is 100% free for potential new members. Items used during rush are paid for by initiated members, and once new members have accepted their bids, a small fee is to be paid as reimbursement for the items they have received!

How does rush work?
During recruitment periods, we will hold a variety of events that fall under a variety of categories - such as sisterhood, philanthropy, fundraising & a meet and greet. We encourage you to come out to as many events as possible so you can get to know us better, but most importantly so we can get to know you! After the open recruitment events, there is a preference party which is by invitation only. This will be the last event of recruitment. Within a few days, bids will be handed out as an official invitation to join our sorority.

Do I have less of a chance of being accepted if I don't attend every event?
You are not required to attend every rush event, but by attending more events the active sisters will get to know you better and you'll get to know us better!
AFTER TURNING IN YOUR APPLICATION, YOU'LL BE GIVEN A DETAILED RUSH SCHEDULE INCLUDING SUGGESTED APPAREL (I.E. CASUAL VS SEMI-FORMAL) FOR EACH OF THE FOLLOWING RUSH EVENTS! WHEN IN DOUBT, CHECK THE FACEBOOK GROUP TOO!
ALPHA PI PHI DOES NOT SEEK OUT ANY SPECIFIC PERSONALITY TRAITS OR TALENTS DURING OUR RECRUITMENT PERIOD. WE'RE A SISTERHOOD COMPRISED ON DIVERSE YOUNG WOMEN WHO ARE BONDED TOGETHER OVER SHARED VALUES OF LOVE, LOYALTY, AND FRIENDSHIP! OVERALL, WE'RE LOOKING FOR DEVOTED YOUNG WOMEN WHO WILL MAKE POSITIVE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE IOTA CHAPTER!
IS THERE A COST WHEN JOINING ALPHA PI PHI?
JUST LIKE ANY EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY, ALPHA PI PHI DOES HAVE SEMESTERLY 'DUES' WHICH ALL MEMBERS MUST PAY IN ORDER TO KEEP IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE CHAPTER. WE WILL HAVE A POSTER BOARD WITH THE BREAKDOWN OF OUR DUES AT MEET AND GREETS. THE BREAK DOWN WILL EXPLAIN HOW OUR FINANCES ARE DISTRIBUTED AND SPENT THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR.
WHAT IS THE NEW MEMBER PROCESS?
OUR NEW MEMBERSHIP PERIOD INVOLVES ACTIVITIES, OTHERWISE KNOW AS NEW MEMBERSHIP TASKS OR NEW MEMBERSHIP EDUCATION THAT IS DESIGNED TO CREATE A STRONGER BOND AMONG THE NEW MEMBERS AND TO THE SORORITY. DURING THIS TIME YOU'LL LEARN THE HISTRORY, TRADITIONS, AND OPERATING PROCEDURES OF THE ORGANIZATION AND PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES TO GET TO KNOW THE SISTERS BETTER.
